New Burlington website is cast in stone

In a drive to increase the specification of its natural stone products and roofing slate, Cumbria-based Burlington - the UK’s leading stone producer - has unveiled a dramatic redesign of its popular web site.

Logging on to www.burlingtonstone.co.uk provides architects, interior designers, specifiers, contractors and developers with a wealth of product information and design ideas that will simply inspire. Redesigned to demonstrate the company’s ability to transform both the interior and exterior of a building through the use of its luxurious natural stone, slate and limestone products, the new website presents a gallery of specification projects, together with detailed technical information, help and support.

Stylish and eye-catching, the new site also boasts a host of tools and features that serve to improve the usability and accessibility of information vital for those involved in the specification of natural stone products. New this time around is an ‘In Your Home’ section, created to accommodate the growing consumer interest that the site now attracts.

For ease of navigation, the website covers distinct product categories that provide access to detailed information, whether in relation to roofing, flooring, cladding, interiors and landscaping, all of which are enhanced through a gallery of high quality photographic images.

Equally accessible is information relating to the palette of stone colours that the specifier can choose from. Sympathetically extracted from Burlington’s six quarries comes a unique mix of five sumptuous stones - blue/grey, pale green, mid green, olive green and silver grey - together with two limestones, Caulfeild and Lord. Adding to the appeal of each stone’s rich colouring are contrasting veins and markings that emphasise its natural origin, as well as a range of smooth and textured finishes that facilitate use in wet conditions. Not surprisingly, it is this combination of colours, finishes and product type that makes Burlington a unique proposition on the global stage.

The new website also enables specifiers to access a wealth of technical and specification information, be it in the form of datasheets, brochures or design guides, all of which can be quickly downloaded in pdf format. What’s more, the site provides access to Burlington’s in-house technical support team who have the capability to provide advice and design assistance.

A new Press centre has also been integrated to accommodate the needs of the media and freelance journalists. Boasting a library of current press release material, it also enables Editors to download any relevant images in jpg format.

Comments Burlington’s Managing Director, Rob Irwin “The dramatic improvements that we have made to our web site not only meets the needs of interior designers, architects and specifiers, they significantly increase the functionality and friendliness for consumer traffic, by helping them to both visualise and realise their dreams.”
