JELD-WEN, one of the UK’s leading door manufacturers, has taken its inspiration from the very best in classic styles and brought them up to date to suit contemporary homes in its exciting new 2008 catalogue which is out now.

The highlights of the new catalogue are: a brand new external door range, new styles to the popular Kensington exterior door collection, plus two stunning new ranges of internal doors and contemporary new glazing to JELD-WEN’s range of moulded doors.

JELD-WEN’s Product Manager Mark Roberts said: “We are always looking to bring doors to the market that pick out the best from the worlds of furniture, art and design. We think we have achieved this with our latest collection and we can’t wait to hear the response from buyers.”

Starting with the exterior doors, art nouveau style is very evident in the 2008 collection with the new Mackintosh doors from JELD-WEN. Four stylish doors are available in a luxurious Cherry veneer, which take their inspiration from one of the World’s leading architect, designer and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh. These beautiful doors feature decorative coloured glass panels adding to the richness of the real wood finish.

Demand for new styles of Kensington external door has lead to the introduction of the new Serna and Romero doors into the range. These doors feature distinctive bevelled glass that catches the light beautifully.

These 16.5mm triple glazed fully finished oak veneer doors are perfect for making a home more energy efficient and their simple, enduring style looks set to be a hit both with builders and homeowners.

As flush doors continue to soar in popularity, JELD-WEN has released an exciting new twist to its internal veneered doors range. The Pantograph veneered doors recreate the contemporary wood effect used across Europe with horizontal and vertical grains integrated to create a stunning effect in the home. This stylish design of flush veneer door is available in both light and dark timber finishes, with four styles available to complement all styles of furnishings in the home.

Another exciting addition is the new internal Croft door from JELD-WEN, which replicates a traditional style and rail frame door with a twist. This stunning door features a planked effect centre panel with a decorative arched top to give this door a truly universal appeal.

Taking internal doors to a new level, the new Brilliant cut glazed moulded doors from JELD-WEN feature two stunning styles with attractive 6 and 10 light designs that help maximise daylight in a room. This mock glazing bar effect offers improved sight lines to give a feeling of light and space in a room.

Inspirational use of glazing is also found in the new 2-light decorative moulded doors which perfectly complements the modern trend towards arts and crafts styling with a flock effect, which is currently popular for wallpaper, soft furnishings and floorcoverings.

All these latest additions are FSC Chain of Custody certified, which means the timber originates from well managed forests and are supplied fully finished, for quick and simple installation on site.

Mark Roberts, Product Manager for JELD-WEN, said: “Contemporary doors are in huge demand at the moment. Developers are looking for inspirational doors that differentiate their properties and we are expecting them to become highly sought after for modern townhouses and apartments.”
