Mumford & Wood’s Contemporary™ windows and doors have been used in the complete renovation and remodelling of a substantial family house in Brighton. The property has been extended to the side and rear elevations and incorporates a dramatic glazed screen, designed by Mumford & Wood, in the vaulted main bedroom which provides access to a balconied atrium and direct views of the sea.

Contempory™ Tilt Turn windows; folding, sliding doors; single and double doors make a dramatic contribution to this art-deco style property. Available in premium quality, laminated and clear graded Larch, with the option of Sapele and Oak, windows in this project have been made to order in an alternative timber/aluminium clad combination which offers the beauty of natural wood internally with the practical functionality of an aluminium exterior finish, perfectly suited to the harsh sea facing conditions.

These high performance factory finished windows and doors with a Tilt Turn hinging system allow both windows and doors to tilt inwards when opened from either a side or bottom hinge movement. Low ‘E’ glass is used as standard although this project specified a self-clean option; toughened, laminate, obscure and improved acoustic glazing options are also available.

Together with high quality weatherseals, Contemporary™ products are fully compliant with Part L Building Regulations and achieve a severe exposure rating, perfect for the location. These Contemporary™ Tilt Turn windows were also specified to conform to the European Burglary resistant standard DIN V ENV 1627-1630.

Folding, sliding doors, a new addition to Mumford & Wood’s Contemporary™ range, provide easy access from the kitchen to the enclosed patio, effectively extending the living area directly into the garden. A full site survey and installation service is carried out by Mumford & Wood’s team of registered installers.
