Marshall-Tufflex casts a new style for guttering
Installers and householders looking for a traditional appearance, yet a more user-friendly and economic alternative to cast iron guttering, should look no further than Marshall-Tufflex’s new Universal Elegance cast iron appearance system.
Universal Elegance is the combination of a modern, PVC-U rainwater system with the elegant appeal of cast iron – even as far as an authentic, dimpled appearance. This extremely realistic look is achieved through a special surface coating coupled with the application process and specific manufacturing conditions under which it is applied.
Comparable aesthetically with cast iron, but less costly and with no annual painting or anti-corrosive protective coating required, Universal Elegance is an attractive option for customers with period properties needing refurbishment or extensions. It will also appeal to new build customers preferring a traditional style guttering system, especially in certain conservation areas or where there is a need for installations that are sympathetic to the surrounding environment.
And it offers more than just good looks. The surface coating is highly durable and UV resistant, prolonging it’s life, despite the variable UK climate. Universal Elegance is produced in a gloss black finish, so that, unlike traditional cast iron guttering, it always maintains a ‘just painted’ appearance for longer.
“Most people who see it are really impressed,” said Chris Scott, Product Manager at Marshall-Tufflex. “We use a different method of that gives our system the textured look of cast iron at a more economic price. Installers will also appreciate how lightweight and easy to handle and assemble it is in comparison with cast iron. As a result it can significantly reduce labour time on site and make working at heights that much easier.”
The majority of roof structure applications are achievable using Universal Elegance with its 114mm wide x 51mm deep profile, delivering all the benefits of a modern PVC-U rainwater system without any of the drawbacks of cast iron.
It is the latest addition to Marshall-Tufflex’s portfolio of rainwater management systems for domestic and commercial applications. With its in-house design and production facilities, the company is renowned for its new product technologies and for its popular Half Round, Square Line, XL and Universal System Plus guttering and downpipe systems. The range was recently extended to introduce soil and underground systems.
