MARQUETRY STYLE TO NEW INLAID VENEER DOORS
Fans of ornate marquetry style will delight in the new inlaid veneer doors recently released by JELD-WEN. Bold geometric lines of inlaid walnut are combined with high quality veneered faces to create a range of light, elegant and sophisticated interior doors.
Mark Roberts, product manager at JELD-WEN, comments: “This innovative new design incorporates the popular European minimalist look, but with bold straight lines that are reminiscent of marquetry-style furniture. The inlaid veneers create an elegant symmetry to the doors that echo linear forms and height first inspired by the marquetry craftsmen. These doors perfectly complement the trend for classic styles in the home.”
JELDWEN’s new range comprises a choice of three natural veneer doors in Ash, American Cherry and White Oak, all with (6.5mm) simplistic walnut inlays and the option of one or two panel designs. The veneer face of the doors features a clever stile and rail arrangement that gives the impression of a solid timber door. The horizontal mid rail in the two panel veneer design further enhances its authenticity. Both edges of the door are finished with a 6mm lacquered hardwood strip, further enhancing its appearance.
Simple but stylish Ash veneers in this range provide the perfect complement to contemporary trends for light coloured woodgrains in the home. For buyers seeking a warmer veneer, the American cherry is set to appeal, adding a feeling of opulence and self indulgence in the home. Cherry veneer has been a popular choice for many years and remains a firm favourite because it works well with both dark and lighter tones in the home.
Finally, the American White Oak door provides the option of a veneer with a traditional look when combined with the walnut inlay, which gives it an elegant designer feel.
“Marquetry’s distinctive style is evident throughout the range and fits well with contemporary floor and worktop finishes,” explains Mark Roberts. “The high quality veneer used on the doors are fully lacquered on both faces to highlight the natural beauty of the veneer, making it even more appealing. There is demand in the market for this style of door with a contemporary feel but classic styling and we have high expectations that it will become one of our most popular ranges.”
The inlaid veneer range is offered in a wide range of sizes and with fire door options also available.
