Makita, Britain’s number 1 professional power tool manufacturer, has long been recognised for providing high quality training courses both at their fully equipped training centre at Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, and on-site through the experienced team of end-user demonstrators and staff. Makita created the very first City & Guilds approved Correct & Safe Use power tool training course. Makita Solutions is a comprehensive support package offering training, service guidance and safety education covering vibration, dust and noise.

Now Makita has taken its proven site Safety Talks and prepared this valuable health and safety training package as a series of easy-to-understand presentations that can be delivered effectively in any workplace environment. Aware that the UK construction industry today has many workers who do not have English as their prime language, the Safety Talks are provided in seven languages: English, Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Czech, Russian and Romanian.

The simple but effective illustrations are also captioned in the appropriate language and all graphics are carried as high-resolution PDF’s so that the entire subject presentation can be printed out in any of the languages. The vector graphics can be printed in large format without distortion. The Safety Talk can be delivered in English but by simply clicking on the appropriate country flag icon the same graphic is displayed but with the caption shown in the appropriate language.

This most comprehensive Makita training aid is all carried on a simple memory stick which can run on any laptop or PC and is available from all Makita distributors for just £69.99 plus vat. Subjects covered have been agreed with CITB and include: Correct and Safe Use of Equipment, Dust and Fumes, Vibration, Eye Protection, Noise, PPE, Skin Protection, Portable Electrical Appliances, Use of Electricity and Use of Hand Tools. Each presentation has at least 15 illustrations and this huge amount of content also includes notes for the trainer delivering the Safety Talk and an assessment format that offers multiple choice answers to be certain that, whatever the language of the trainee, the message has been delivered and comprehended.
