Low U-value doors from Manse Masterdor

Manse Masterdor has launched a range of external timber ‘thermal’ door-sets with low U-values that can help specifiers comply with the latest changes to Part L of the Building Regulations.

Director Mike Hudson says: “Although the requirements for new buildings are based on the total energy performance of the whole building rather than individual components, higher performance doors are essential. This has already led forward thinking specifiers and architects to incorporate the substantial benefits of timber door-sets into new, lower carbon properties. As the regulations tighten, timber continues to provide a first class option.

“For example the 54mm insulated Masterdor TT (Timber Thermal) delivers a U-value of 1.0W/m2K,and 44mm timber Masterdors with glazing achieve U-values of 1.6W/m2K or lower – combined with good air tightness this makes Masterdor the sensible choice.

“As Masterdors are made to measure timber engineered door-sets, housing associations, specifiers and architects can be confident that we can develop a product that is designed to their specification, looks great and meets Building Regulation requirements.”
