LEGRAND PARADES ITS NEW ENCLOSURES

Legrand, a world specialist in products and systems for electrical installations and information networks, has reacted to changing market demands by launching an enhanced range of enclosures.

Replacing all current glass reinforced polyester (GRP) enclosures, the new Marina range features a number of innovative developments aimed at improving installation and maintenance.

“Our aim was to combine customer and market feedback with our own development ideas in order to offer a modern, user-friendly product that would also stand the test of time,” said Legrand’s Ken Rodgers.

Amongst the key developments are: • Mounting plates that can be fitted directly to the rear of the enclosure without the need for additional fixings. • Internal and external fixings outside the usable area of the enclosure. • A sprung, vibration resistant door. • A ribbed moulding on the door to deflect water outwards when opened.

In addition, the colour, on both the Marina range and Legrand’s range of Atlantic steel enclosures, has been changed from beige RAL 7032 to grey RAL 7035 in order bring the products in line with market-leading IT requirements.

“Seemingly minor developments like these make all the difference to the user,” continued Ken. “They improve every aspect of their experience with the product and demonstrate the care and attention that has gone into its development.”

Legrand has also looked to the future during the development of the new Marina range by replacing metal with GRP in virtually every area of its design in order to make end of life disposal easier than ever before.

“End of life disposal may not be a huge issue at present, but in years to come ever more emphasis will be placed on the ease of disposal and we want to ensure our products are future-proofed so that those specified and installed today are not a hindrance tomorrow,” added Ken.
