Legrand, a world specialist in products and systems for electrical installations and information networks, has supplied decorative nickel switches and sockets from its Synergy Modern range of wiring accessories for use in the £10million redevelopment of Q-Hotels’ Forest Pines Gold and Country Club hotel in North Lincolnshire.

The products, which are designed in a timeless style so as not to fall foul of changing fashion trends, were specified by leading M&E consultant, Rodney Environmental Consultants for use throughout the hotel.

“Having previously used Legrand’s Synergy products at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester, I had no hesitation specifying them for this extensive and prestigious redevelopment project,” said Roger Gross of Rodney Environmental.

The work on the hotel, which was completed in November 2006, began at the turn of last year and included the construction of a new bedroom block containing 75-rooms and the refurbishment of a further 90-rooms. In addition, a new conference centre has been built, the leisure club refurbished, while the refurbishment of the popular Mulligan’s Café Bar is scheduled for 2007.

“For such a prestigious project it was imperative that the electrical accessories used not only offered lasting aesthetic appeal, but were also straightforward to install and Synergy Modern, with its innovative design and enhanced practicality, really did deliver,” continued Roger Gross.”

The decorative nickel element of the Synergy Modern range, which also includes standard white and silver finishes, helps to create a warm contemporary look by combining the style of silver with the traditional warmth of brass.

“Research shows that style plays a more important role than ever in any interior, and in order to keep pace with this design-led culture, wiring accessories have had to evolve to a stage where they are stylish, functional, durable and equipped to cope with future developments and changing design trends.” said Guy Coats of Legrand.

“Our aim when we set out with Synergy was to take wiring accessories to a level where they’d be viewed as part of the interior design scheme,” he continued. “When you consider its signature 3-light LED display, contoured plates, precision action contoured rocker and the increasing number of high project developments that it is being specified for, it’s clear that Synergy is making a significant impact.”

In addition to Forest Pines, Rodney Environmental also specified Synergy Modern for Q Hotels’ Westerwood Hotel in Cumberland, Scotland. To find out more about the hotels and the chain visit www.qhotels.co.uk.
