Legrand has launched a new range of 316L grade stainless steel enclosures that are designed for use in some of the harshest environments on the planet.
Atlantic 316L stainless steel enclosures have primarily been designed with offshore and marine installations in mind, where the material is commonly specified as a result of its unparalleled corrosion protection. The range is also suited to other corrosive environments - in particular installations within the food and chemical industries.
The wall mounted range is Nema Type 4X, UL, CSA and Bureau Veritas approved; offers IK10 impact resistance; and delivers complete weatherproof protection as a result of its IP66 rating. Furthermore, all Atlantic 316L products feature upper and lower protective hoods and rounded vertical sides on doors. While the vertical brushed, 180 grain polished finish delivers yet another level of protection to the product.
Caroline Boden, marketing manager for Legrand’s wiring device division and industrial products portfolio, said: “For a new product range to be successful in a market where the installation conditions are amongst the toughest you can possibly imagine it has to tick every single box in terms of strength, durability and security – as a result, the Atlantic 316L stainless steel range is very much the armoured car of enclosures.”
The new Atlantic range is available in seven sizes from 300(h) x 200(w) x 160mm (d) to 1000(h) x 800(w) x 300mm (d) and is supported by a wide selection of complementary equipment and accessories. This includes plain and perforated mounting plates, sectioned uprights and rails, internal doors and modular chassis with insulated faceplates.
The 316L stainless steel range is the latest addition to Legrand’s enclosures offering, which also features Atlantic-E mild steel enclosures, Marina GRP enclosures and Atlantic 304L grade stainless steel enclosures.
