Legrand, a world specialist in products and systems for electrical installations and information networks, has welcomed the prospect of a long stint behind bars after a combination of its cable trunking, tray and ladder systems were fitted in Lancashire Constabulary’s new custodial centres in Lancaster and Preston.
Specified by electrical contractor, Bowker Ltd the solution comprised Legrand’s Swifts cable tray, plus its ladder and Salamandre trunking, all of which was supplied in steel due to the material’s all around durability.
“Legrand has been our preferred cable management supplier for many years and when we were awarded the contract by Allenbuild we had no hesitation specifying its products,” said Dave Blackburn of Bowker Ltd. “They consistently provide high quality products and a level of service that is second to none.”
Legrand’s cable management solution will carry distribution power, general power, data / fire alarm and security cabling around the two new centres, which between them feature over 50 custody suites, secure van docks, offices and additional accommodation. Built for a combined cost of £9.4million, work is due for completion and handover later this month.
