The 2010 Light+Building Exhibition in Frankfurt was a major success for the KNX Association. Over 1200 visitors from 54 countries attended the International KNX
Awards ceremony. Another major highlight was the launch of the latest generation of the KNX
ETS (Engineering Tool Software) programming tool.
ETS supports KNX
installations and it has now been completely redesigned with the inclusion of many new functions. The new generation ETS 4 was presented as a Beta version at Light+Building and it makes it possible to implement KNX
projects more easily. Furthermore, the use of a standardised open interface allows the exchange of ETS data and integration with other applications.
ETS 4 offers a clearly-structured, intuitive user interface to make it easier for those new to KNX
technology. Newcomers will appreciate the design of the new user interface and with the presentation of menus clearly improved. A wizard permits step by step project design whilst improvement of the workflow is achieved through drag and drop, error checks and help functions.
The official launch for ETS 4 is scheduled for October 2010.
