Keymer, the premium handmade roof tile brand, which is now owned byWienerberger, the leading supplier of wall, roof and landscaping innovations, has officially been relaunched from its new home at Wienerberger’s Ewhurst factory in Surrey, right in the plain tile heartland.
The brand, which is renowned as one of the oldest operational roofing manufacturers in the world, is making the fourth move in its 400-year history.
Its new home will be Wienerberger’s Ewhurst factory, which was officially reopened by Brandon Lewis MP, Minister for Housing and Planning on 2nd March 2015.
Keymer’s handmade clay tiles will continue to be produced using the orange clays of the South Weald and the same traditional equipment and processes at its new home.
The company has invested heavily to ensure the handmade production process is retained, meaning that all Keymer products will boast the quality and performance they have become famous for.
Harald Schwarzmayr, Managing Director at Wienerberger, commented:
This is a very exciting time for both Wienerberger and Keymer and it is fantastic to be able to officially launch the brand from its new home at Ewhurst. The addition of the Keymer brand, which was established in 1588, to the Wienerberger portfolio has expanded our product offering to include these unique beautiful, traditional handmade tiles, and ensures that this UK heritage brand is in safe hands for the future.
Following its move to Wienerberger, we will continue to supply Keymer tiles and products manufactured using the same traditional processes and to the same quality and standards which are synonymous with the celebrated Keymer brand.
