JT Leads the way in Export Deal with Europe’s Biggest Market

In a British manufacturing success story, JT, the UK’s leading shower tray manufacturer, has signed a deal with Konig, a key wholesaler in the upper Rhine region in Germany, to sell their successful line of bathroom products in Europe’s biggest market.

Based in Leeds, the innovative manufacturer has signed a regional strategic partnership with Konig, who have 16 branches in eight showrooms, to bring JT’s collection of designer trays to the €2.2 billion German market.

JT, who manufacture over 5,000 trays a week, has invested significantly in product design and the brand over recent years and brought the first low profile shower tray to the market with the JT40. The deal will see the new JTNATURALS Collection lead the export drive.

Paul Crossley, managing director of JT, said: “This deal is the result of 12 months of market research and discussions to establish the right partners to deliver our premium products into new export markets. The market in Germany has a strong focus on quality and design, with over 900,000 shower trays sold every year I am sure our new contemporary styles will suit this particular product sector.

“Over recent years, such deals have gone to companies in the Far East so this is a fine example of how the UK manufacturing industry with innovation and investment can compete. We are really excited about this partnership and looking forward to expanding in Germany, with a view to increase our presence in other European and global markets.”
