IronmongeryDirect celebrates double win at The ECMOD Awards 2010

IronmongeryDirect was triumphant at the ECMOD Awards for Outstanding Business Performance in 2009 by winning awards for Outstanding Customer Service and Niche Trade Supplier, beating off strong competition within multi-channel shopping industry.

The prestigious annual ECMOD Awards for Outstanding Business Performance in 2009, hosted this year by TV presenter Dermot Murnaghan, are firmly established as the catalogue and multi-channel sector's most sought-after accolade, celebrating excellence with categories that reflect the diversity and dynamics of the market.

Managing Director, Wayne Lysaght-Mason comments: “I am ecstatic at winning not one, but two awards. After a fantastic year in 2009, these awards are the ultimate testament to our entire team’s dedication and constant focus on delivering great customer service. We will continue to lead the way as one of the UK's leading trade suppliers by going the extra mile for our customers; everything else we aim for will be achieved by putting this first.”

Rosemary Stockdale, ECMOD Award Judge (Managing Director, Sterling Marketing) adds; “I was particularly impressed by how customer focused IronmongeryDirect is and how they are constantly exceeding customer expectations. The winning combination for us was their vast product range, next delivery guarantee, 99.5% order accuracy and dedication to developing their business model to put customer service first.”

IronmongeryDirect recently revealed sales growth of 36% during 2009, also increasing the customer base by 44%, despite the recession, which caused a severe decline in construction activity. The rapid increase in IronmongeryDirect’s market share has been attributed to its growing reputation of providing an extremely reliable service to the trade. The company were also successful finalists in 2009’s National Business Awards.

The winners of the award were announced at a glittering awards ceremony on the 14th April 2010, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.
