IRIS CERAMICA welcomes young Japanese eco-architecture stars to Fiorano

Today Sou Fujimoto and Akihisa Hirata visited the Iris Ceramica headquarters at Fiorano Modenese and the Viano plant, one of the most modern in Italy in terms of production capacity and technological quality. Welcomed by CEO Graziano Verdi in person, the two architects, stars of the new generation in Japanese architecture, received an introduction to the latest developments from Iris Ceramica and in particular ACTIVE Clean Air & Antibacterial CeramicTM, the innovative eco-active, anti-bacteria material.

Fujimoto and Hirata’s visit follows on from the inauguration of the exhibition of their work in Milan, together with that of Junya Ishigami, Golden Lion at the latest Venice Architecture Biennale. The exhibition, entitled ARCHITECTURE AS A PIECE OF NATURE, runs until 29 April at SPAZIOFMGPERL’ARCHITETTURA, the Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti gallery.

“We are honoured to receive a visit from Fujimoto and Hirata, because through their architecture they offer a youthful perspective, full of innovative experimentation, on the need to respect and safeguard the environment in which we live. We are convinced that for a sustainable future, architects, companies and clients must commit to construction as nature intended,” comments Graziano Verdi, Iris Ceramica CEO.
