Installers targeted by new ‘green energy’ training programme

A leading renewable energy specialist is looking to recruit installers from across the UK for a new free training programme.

Stiebel Eltron, is one of the world’s premier renewable energy heating product manufacturers. It is launching a range of pioneering green energy heating products and it is offering installers free specialist training on them. Installers being targeted include heating engineers, electrical contractors, plumbing contractors and heating and ventilation specialists.

Stiebel Eltron Managing Director Mark McManus said the training programme focuses on a range of hugely powerful ground and air source heat pumps, a key renewable energy technology if the UK is to slash its CO2 emissions (see background below).

“These new products are right at the forefront of the green revolution,” he said. “Heat accounts for half of UK energy use and carbon emissions so these green heating products are the future. This new range uses technology not widely seen in the UK. The products are so powerful and innovative they can generate heat for major projects such as heating for hospitals, schools and large offices. Our new training programme shows installers exactly how this equipment works. It’s a tremendous opportunity for installers to learn new skills which will be of enormous value as demand for renewable energy grows.”

Mr McManus said with more public and private sector organisations going green and installing renewable energy products there is a greater demand for work.

“Through our training we can help installers become accredited for Government grants schemes such as the Microgeneration Certification Scheme,” he said. “Ordinarily this can be expensive but we can make it much more straightforward and we can slash costs.”
