When a revolutionary new product from leading heating and plumbing manufacturer Pegler Yorkshire was launched, a competition to win a trip to Paris was offered for anyone who could guess how many pieces of pipe it would take to stretch from St Pancras international train station to the Eiffel tower Paris.
Lucky winner, Barry Patchett of BDP Plumbing and Heating Services from Boston, Lincolnshire has scooped the prize of a short break to the French capital which he will enjoy with his partner later this year.
"I was delighted to win the competition having decided to enter it when someone commented ‘You've got to be in it to win it!’” said Barry. "I'm a big fan of Pegler Yorkshire products and regularly use its taps and Tectite Push Fit fittings across a range of domestic and commercial applications and enjoy the reliability and consistency that they deliver to me and my customers."
"We are very proud of our Tectite Flexible Metal product and have received positive feedback from a number of installers, in both domestic and commercial sectors, championing its endless benefits," said Phill Jackson Marketing and Business Development Director Pegler Yorkshire. "We send our warmest congratulations to Barry and wish him a happy trip to Paris."
Tectite Flexible Metal is constructed using a thin layer of aluminium flanked by cross-linked polyethylene. It offers installers and specifiers the perfect balance between the integrity of metal and the flexibility of plastic. Tectite Flexible Metal is malleable enough to be shaped by hand, yet it is more resistant to warping than plastic piping, and it can handle temperatures of up to 6 bar at 95°C and 16 bar at 30°C
Available in sizes 15 and 22mm Tectite Flexible Metal is designed for installation alongside the high-performance metal push-fit fittings range from Pegler Yorkshire. A jointing system that does not require any expensive tooling and is twice as quick as the capillary method, thanks to the use of pre-lubricated seals.
Barry concluded: "Tectite Flexible Metal is a superb product and particularly appealing due to its compatibility with the tried and tested Tectite fittings. I can see how it will offer lots of benefits to installers and specifiers; it's another quality product from Pegler Yorkshire."
