Combining great acoustics with full design flexibility, the new generation of ROCKFON monolithic ceilings give architects it all in one system.
Architects are often faced with the choice between acoustics and aesthetics when designing building interiors. While creative visions and modern trends call for seamless, white surfaces and organic shapes, technical requirements for acoustics, fire safety and easy installation can make it difficult to find a ceiling that does both. That is why ROCKFON has nowmade the innovative Mono® Acoustic system even better.
Smoother finish for any application
Made from stone wool, Mono Acoustic provides Class A sound absorption (0.90aw), reduces echo and significantly decreases reverberation, while the improved render formulation makes the finish even smoother and whiter than before. The system creates a seamless monolithic finish whether flat, sloped or curved to offer architects full design flexibility.
Ideal for any space, Mono Acoustic can be installed in new builds and renovations. Installed on a Chicago Metallic® suspension system or directly mounted on existing ceilings and walls, the timeless, monolithic look complements the character and original architecture of historic buildings and makes Mono Acoustic an ideal choice for renovation projects. Equally suitable for new builds, it can be installed in large atriums or smaller rooms as seamless spans, ceiling islands and on walls.
Even smoother and whiter ceilings in new London Mondrian Hotel
Seductive and striking, Mondrian London at Sea Containers brings a bold new energy to London, blending the style and sophistication of the boutique brand with South Bank's eclectic vibe. Simon Gilkes, Mondrian’s Director of Sales and Marketing was delighted to work with ROCKFON in addressing the acoustic requirements of such voluminous spaces. ‘Their knowledge, professionalism and considered approach to the iconic Sea Containers building was a success from both a design and acoustic perspective'.
ROCKFON Mono Acoustic quickly became a preferred solution for leading architects when the system was first developed. Now ROCKFON has taken the solution a step further and made the surface even smoother and whiter to make acoustic ceilings look better than ever before.
ROCKFON has made Mono Acoustic easier to apply than the previous formulation and reduced the tapered edges so they now require less filler, which speeds up installation and reduces material use. Combined with the simplicity of the highly stable Chicago Metallic Monolithic grid and the improved brackets that reduce the need for screws, installation is now significantly faster.
Mono Acoustic allows for easy incorporation of light wells, lighting, air conditioning, ventilation systems and inspection hatches and offers Class A2 fire protection. The tiles are dimensionally stable at up to 100% relative humidity and can be installed in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C, allowing installation before windows are fully sealed, without the risk of distortion. ROCKFON provides technical support and training courses for installers* to ensure a high-quality finish and performance.
* Installation may only be completed by authorised Mono Acoustic installers who have successfully completed the training programme. Please contact ROCKFON for a list of authorised installers.
