Ideal Commercial Boilers Appoints New Specification Manager

Simon Carpenter has joined Ideal Commercial Boilers in the role of Specification Manager, expanding the company’s growing team of consultative technical experts and further strengthening Ideal Commercial’s position as a market-leading commercial heating solutions specialist.

Simon’s role will entail working closely with major consultants, specifiers and contractors in the Central London area to assist in the selection of boiler plant and suitable equipment for a whole host of commercial and residential applications, including schools, hospitals, hotels, retail outlets and large scale communal heating developments.

Simon brings with him a wealth of experience in the commercial building services sector, having worked in the industry for over 20 years. His experience spans from his early apprenticeship spent learning the basics of M&E installation to a variety of key roles including Mechanical design engineer at Charterhouse consultants, being a founder member in the setup of a small consultancy practice with former colleagues and Technical Design Manager at Evinox. He has also written a wide variety of company technical manuals and literature particularly for communal heating products.

Simon has also worked extensively in the development of Heat Interface Units (HIU) for applications such as district / communal heating schemes, as well as working with contractors and consultants assisting with the design and advising on the integration of renewable technologies. He played a key role in the design and development one of the largest solar thermal systems in Central London, which was installed to serve a communal system within a housing development in Highbury that was later voted as one of the most desirable places to live by London by the then mayor of London.

Simon affirmed, “Ideal Commercial Boilers has been a leading name in the industry for decades and is one of the few British manufacturers still out there, so I was proud for a number of reasons when I was appointed as Specification Manager within the business. What I enjoy most about this role is meeting different consultants and working alongside them to develop designs and formulate solutions that meet the needs of the end user. I am looking forward to utilising my experience and technical knowledge to remind those in the industry about the extensive capabilities of Ideal Commercial boilers and the role they can play in the drive towards more energy efficient heating solutions.”
