IBP Communication & PR Awards now open to entries

The Building Centre is proud to support the new communication awards from International Building Press (IBP). They have joined forces with Gorkana and CIPR special interest group Capsig to emulate their annual journalism awards scheme, established in 1973. IBP launched the Communication and PR Awards this week.

The Awards are intended to showcase and give recognition to in-house PR departments and Public Relations Consultancies working in architecture, construction and design, together with residential and commercial property.

These are the first Communication and PR awards dedicated to communications activity in the built environment and have been established in response to increasing recognition by journalists and clients of the important role that public relations plays in the industry.

Judges representing the media and industry, include* Peter Bill, columnist Evening Standard & Estate Gazette, Amanda Baillieu, Editor Building Design magazine, Alan Smith, Corporate Communications Director, Kier Group, Vanessa Brady, President, Society of British Interior Design and Sheri Besford, Building Design Partnership will help to judge eight categories: In house Communications Team; PR Consultancy Team; Best Business Communications Campaign; Best Public Affairs Campaign; Best use of online/digital media; Campaign of the Year; Young Communicator of the Year and Communicator of the Year.

Being run in association with the Gorkana Group, specialists in media database, monitoring and communications measurement, with the support of the CIPR special interest group CAPSIG (Construction and Property Group) and The Building Centre, Harriett Hindmarsh, chairman of IBP and Global Head of Marketing and Communications for AECOM commented: “These awards provide an excellent opportunity for communications professionals to get the recognition they deserve for the important role they play working for organizations in the built environment and providing a valuable link to the media and their readers.”
