Seven HV1250 fans have been supplied by Hydor Limited
, UK specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of ventilation products, above a track operated by Formula Fast Indoor Karting Limited at its Banbury headquarters in Oxfordshire. The units are needed to move large volumes of air to prevent the build-up of carbon monoxide (CO) within the converted warehouse and to expel fumes and stale air cost effectively.
The installation represents a new challenge for Hydor
, a company whose name is synonymous with fan engineering and system design. Based in Downton, Salisbury (with divisions in Ireland, South Africa and Australia), Hydor
offer a comprehensive range of products designed to move large amounts of air efficiently. The company is proud of the reputation it has built in agriculture as well as Building Services projects, with the indoor karting track situated within 500 metres of Junction 11 of the M40, providing an interesting application of its products and technologies.
When Formula Fast first approached the company for a competitive solution for the track’s ventilation problems, Hydor
realised that its Single-Phase 1.1kw HV1250 fans, complete with shutter units, were ideally suited to the task, based on the volume of the spaces involved.
HV Belt Drive fan unit is specifically designed to ventilate larger buildings – typically livestock housing or industrial buildings - where substantial amounts of air need to be moved at low pressure with minimal energy consumption.
The 1250mm diameter model fitted at the Banbury track, is the second largest of four models within the range – the other versions being 800mm, 1000mm and 2000mm. Each is constructed from galvanized steel with a specially designed stainless steel impeller, is extremely hardwearing and robust and available with single or three-phase motors and the option of louvres or guards. The powerful fan produces air volumes up to 11.94 m3/s. The drive mechanism includes sealed-for-life, maintenance-free ball bearings to keep noise and vibration levels to a minimum.
The HV range is available in variations for wall mounting with shutters, suspension mounting from roof space or floor mounting with wheels and includes a centrifugal operated back draught shutter or an automatic louvre shutter model. The units were supplied to the site, as usual, fully assembled and complete with standard safety guards.
are presently working with a go-karting track in Belfast, which will see supply four HV1250 belt drives for energy efficient ventilation of the building.
