Hanson Formpave Offers One-Stop-Shop Permeable Paving Solution - Comprehensive Bespoke Design Service for Aquaflow Customers

17 April 2007 – Hanson Formpave, a leading manufacturer of standard and specialist concrete block pavers, provides a bespoke design service as part of its Aquaflow permeable paving solution, providing a value-added, one-stop-shop for its clients. Delivering all the components for permeable paving, including the aggregates and geotechnical products, this service enables the Stormwater Source Control System (SUDS) to be tailored to specific site requirements and to ensure that the paving is installed with optimum effectiveness in terms of performance and cost.

The Hanson Formpave design team of highly experienced engineers uses their technical expertise and commercial knowledge to ensure each site is designed to its full potential. The specialist design service is free and includes technical and professional advice, site data analysis and preparation of proposals or validation of the client’s own designs. Taking the customer’s soil investigation and infiltration test data, the engineers use a specialist design software system that analyses all the site information to help build an optimised design.

Commenting on company’s value-added service, Steve Spikes, development director at Hanson Formpave, said, “We feel it is vital to offer a comprehensive service and believe with our extensive permeable paving background and pioneering research we are ideally positioned to design sites that offer customers high performance, affordability and ‘buildability’ that will positively impact the environment.”

A world authority in the field of sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS), Hanson Formpave first introduced permeable paving to the UK market 12 years ago and through an extensive R&D programme they continue to pioneer and lead the market in this field, utilising this experience and knowledge to design sites with the highest standards in mind for both customer and environment. Hanson Formpave manufactures the market leading Aquaflow Permeable Paving and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), providing an affordable solution to the challenges of storm water disposal and treatment, water conservation, recycling and reuse. The company’s patented Aquaflow paving system delivers immediate environmental benefits and financial savings, when compared to traditional drainage. The system can also be used to harvest and reuse all water that falls on hard surfaces such as roofs and car parks, representing additional environmental benefits and cost savings.

During the past 12 years the company has sponsored an ongoing programme of research and development into permeable paving systems at a number of academic and independent institutions including Coventry University, Edinburgh University, Abertay University, Delft University, Cantabria University (Santander), HR Wallingford and TRL at Crowthorne. Every aspect of its permeable paving system has been independently tested and verified - both in terms of pollution control properties and hydraulic and structural performance. Formpave has always shared (and continues to share) the results of this research with the industry, and it is this approach that has established them as the world leader in permeable paving solutions.

Hanson Formpave is exhibiting at External Works 2007, where their range of products including the new EcoGranite range, the flagship Aquaflow range, Chartres range and Clifton. Visit them on stand P26 for more information on any of their products.
