Hamworthy donates two new boilers to ‘Charity of the Year’

Forest Holme Hospice in Poole, Dorset who cares for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses is benefitting from two new high efficiency boilers.

Hamworthy donated the new boilers as part of the hospice’s refurbishment and to replace previous Hamworthy UR atmospheric boilers that were more than 20 years old and running inefficiently.

The two Purewell VariHeat cast iron high efficiency 65kW boilers, together with Hamworthy’s Dorchester water heaters are providing the heating and hot water for the hospice.

Hannah Parsons, Events and Corporate Fundraiser at Forest Holme Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to Hamworthy Heating for the new boilers. They help to provide a cosy and comfortable environment for all our patients being looked after within the hospice. As a charity, we work very hard to ensure every penny donated to us counts and the new boilers are far more efficient than our old ones, making it much more economical for the hospice to use.”

Exceeding the minimum seasonal efficiency requirements for Building Regulations Part L, the boilers also have superior control capability to accurately match the heating load of the hospice.

The Purewell VariHeat boilers from Hamworthy are available in 5 condensing models and 4 high efficiency non-condensing models. The cast iron boilers are commonly used in refurbishment projects as they are particularly tolerant of old heating circuits and can be easily integrated into existing systems. The reliability of the boilers is backed up by a 10 year parts and labour warranty on the primary and secondary heat exchanger (terms and conditions apply).

As part of Hamworthy’s ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility they have chosen Forest Holme Hospice as their charity of the year for 2014. Hamworthy has also donated staff hours to help at Forest Holme events, mentor young people from schools in the area and run a weekly litter pick at local nature reserve Hatch Pond.
