HAMILTONS ACCESSORIES MATCH RADISSON’S CUTTING EDGE DESIGN

Hamilton Litestat’s Sheer stainless steel wiring accessories range, along with a range of specials including room status indicators and a door entry system, have been featured at the Ballymore owned Radisson Edwardian Hotel newly built in the heart of the Docklands area in East London. This high quality accessory range was specified by the engineers and contractors Briggs & Forrester of Northampton, which has established itself as a leading player in the building services market place by providing a range of engineering design, installation and maintenance services to the construction industry. These products were supplied through the Camberwell branch of electrical wholesalers Edmundsons.

Located at New Providence Wharf, which is a rapidly developing part of Canary Wharf, this 174 bedroom, four star deluxe hotel enjoys panoramic views of the river Thames. These vistas span from Greenwich through to Canary Wharf and down to London City Airport with the 02 arena being positioned directly opposite.

As luxury and space are the key elements of this building’s design it has incorporated a triple height glass atrium which links the hotel to the adjacent residential development of Ontario Tower. A sweeping staircase links the lobby to the Azure restaurant and bar, whilst the first floor houses a dedicated bar serving the Ontario room. This bar is set on a balcony and overlooks the hotel’s striking entrance lobby. To promote an atmosphere of relaxation and clear thinking the interior design within the bedrooms is elegantly minimalist.

The pervading theme of water, within this light and airy eight storey building, has been achieved by using a unique combination of colour, materials and finishes. Each of the bedrooms has been decorated to create a neutral colour palette that aims to give the space a very personal feel. Consequently Hamilton’s Sheer stainless steel face plates, with black inserts were specified to enhance the contemporary theme within this stunning new hotel.

Hamilton’s brief for this project was to supply a whole range of wiring accessories from their popular Sheer Satin Stainless Steel range. These included: 13 amp sockets, light switching, shavers, dimmers, TV and non isolated coaxial sockets etc. Alongside the standard products, Hamilton Litestat also supplied special Sheer hotel plates which were installed under desks and at desk level within the guest rooms. These 320 mm long plates incorporated twin switched, unswitched 5 amp and American 127 volt sockets, plus BT and RJ45 outlets.

Hamiltons also designed and manufactured special plates for disabled rooms, and a special audio visual plate for use in the penthouse suites. These stainless steel plates were able to complement the contemporary look of these luxurious spaces.

To remove clutter within guest rooms Hamiltons has supplied ‘ Room Status’ Indicators for the Vincard door access system which also feature the Sheer plates. These are designed to display the guest’s instructions outside of their room such as ‘ please clean room’, ‘do not disturb’ thus informing the housekeeping staff of the customer’ requirements in a very concise and user friendly manner.

John O’Reilly of Briggs & Forrester said “We aim to provide our clients with innovative and cost effective solutions within a constantly changing environment. By recognising their needs and working alongside them to meet their own business objectives, we believe we can provide the very best solution. In this case we specified Hamilton’s Sheer electrical accessory range as it not only provides the quality and design styling that the client was looking for, but also offers an extensive range which has enabled us to address the client’s installation requirements. At the same time, Hamilton’s bespoke build capabilities ensured that we were able to deliver innovative and practical wiring solutions.”
