Gavin Coster is the man chosen to step into some very big shoes as GEZE UK’s area sales manager for the South West.
He is taking on the role previously undertaken by industry stalwart Peter Haywood who is retiring after a 48-year career. However, Gavin is keen to meet the challenge set by his predecessor covering Devon and Cornwall, Avon and Somerset and parts of Wiltshire and Berkshire.
Gavin will be joining the sales team focusing on manual door control systems as well as the sale of automatic doors and window technology.
Beginning his career as a heating, ventilation and air conditioning project engineer apprentice, Gavin went on to run his own print finishing business for eight years before returning to the industry. He latterly worked for Dorma for more than nine years, including a period running its Basingstoke branch.
Among his achievements is a BS EN 16005 qualification from the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) which is the European standard that is the code of practice for safe use of automatic doors.
Said Gavin: “I am delighted to be joining GEZE UK which I have always admired as a manufacturer, they lead the way in the development of new products and technology and have a great reputation in the industry.
“I am aware that I have some big shoes to fill and hope that I can continue the good work that Peter Haywood has been doing for many years by building strong relationships with our customers and helping GEZE UK grow even further.”
Andy Howland, sales director of GEZE UK, added: “We are delighted to welcome Gavin to the team. He and Peter have had the opportunity to work together in the run-up to Peter’s retirement so the baton of responsibility has been handed on with all the knowledge and skills required for a seamless transition for our customers in the South West.”
