Fuel-efficient Prius are pride of MT’s company car fleet
Sales staff out on the road for market-leading cable management manufacturer Marshall-Tufflex have added the top-of-the-range Toyota Prius T-Spirit to their company car options.
With the hybrid hatchbacks now nominated as the company’s first-choice business car, the first five Toyota hybrids joined the fleet in May.
Hastings-based Marshall-Tufflex is part of the C&C Marshall group of companies, pioneers of PVC-U extrusion and injection-moulding techniques in the UK since World War Two. Today the company is a successful and well-established cable management solutions provider.
The C&C Marshall group also incorporates Marshall-Tufflex Energy-Management, an independent company that includes a product portfolio of intelligent voltage optimisers, power saving systems and sub-metering options.
Marshall-Tufflex HR Manager Steve Baldry said: “With all businesses becoming more energy conscious, we considered the Prius as it offered the opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to carbon reduction, especially as we have now placed CO2 emissions as a factor on choice within our fleet policy. The Toyota Prius is clearly a class-leading vehicle as it demonstrates significant carbon savings but also offers the user a benefit with a saving on the their personal tax liability.”
The Toyota Prius has CO2 emissions of 89g/km and a 72mpg official combined fuel economy figure.
The 26-car Marshall-Tufflex fleet has until now consisted mainly of VW Passat diesels. The company also runs 10 light commercial vehicles and eight hgvs.
The new Prius five-door hatchbacks were supplied by St Leonards Motors, Hastings.
