French agent appointed for Accoya® wood

Accsys Technologies, manufacturer of Accoya®, the world’s leading high technology and environmentally-friendly wood, is pleased to announce that 3A, a French importer/exporter of wood, has been appointed as an agent for Accoya® in France.

With thirty years of experience in the wood trade, exporting and importing wood from America, Asia and Africa, 3A is the ideal partner to develop and promote Accoya® in France.

“We believe there is tremendous potential in France for Accoya® and we are looking forward to helping find new opportunities for such a unique material” says Thierry Aubourg, Director of 3A. “There is no equivalent to Accoya® in France and its outstanding performance will definitely answer our customers’ needs.”

Accoya® is one of the most advanced wood products on the market.  It is currently manufactured in the Netherlands using a non-toxic treatment and uses fast growing timber from sustainable sources. The end product, Accoya®, matches or exceeds the durability, stability and beauty of the very best tropical hardwoods. It has been in use in several countries in Europe for several years now following and intensive multi-year research, development and testing phase.

Hans Seelen, Sales Manager for France at Accsys Technologies said, “We are thrilled about the partnership with 3A. France is an important market for Accoya® and we fully trust 3A’s expertise in this market to spread the word about Accoya®.”

Accoya® is suitable for windows, doors, decking, cladding, louvers, civil works, glulam structural beams and many other challenging external and wet environment applications.  Accoya® wood has superior coatings performance, primarily due to two factors: outstanding dimensional stability and resistance to UV degradation.  Accoya® wood is more dimensionally stable than any other timber species with swelling reduced by around 80%, which means that maintenance is greatly reduced, particularly in challenging climates Accoya® wood is guaranteed for 50 years in exterior use and 25 years when used in the ground or freshwater and this long life also provides an added benefit by helping to reduce carbon emissions.
