Floorcraft Helps Create a Grand Entrance

Having already benefited from flooring from Tarkett Marley Floors in the bedrooms and other areas, it was a natural option for the Cedar Care Home in Bristol to specify more flooring from the company when the need arose to re-cover more floors. Natural looking Moroccan slate was specified for the main foyer, but this time, the designers took advantage of the unique Floorcraft design service offered by Tarkett Marley Floors.

“Although we have used Marley Floors products previously throughout the building, this is the first time that we have made use of the Floorcraft option,” comments Pam Eden, Interior Designer at the Cedar Care Home. “We are delighted with the service which was excellent and very efficient, producing the required final result.”

The Floorcraft service is offered to designers and architects and for Pam Eden, it allowed her to create a ribbon twist decorative border in the main foyer that significantly enhanced the overall appearance. The Floorcraft portfolio, presented on CD features a selection of designs and case studies, enabling clients to see the range of effects that can be achieved in virtually any application. The service allows clients to create and view a variety of designs on their computers before a final decision is made.

“We chose the Marley Premier Collection as we wanted flooring that would be hardwearing and easy to maintain, especially given the amount of foot traffic that runs through the area,” continues Ms Eden. “We also wanted a visually appealing and individual appearance for the flooring which was enabled by the Floorcraft design and cutting service”

The Marley Premier Collection has a clear vinyl wear layer that is suitable for high traffic areas. Available in 12 standard borders in different widths and colours, it offers a broad range of choice for specifiers. Its flexibility allows it to be used not purely for aesthetic purposes but for direction, delineating different areas and emphasising pedestrian routes, particularly useful considering the function and residents of the care home.
