FAKRO has helped support a group of directors and employees from Inter-Line Builders' Merchants by becoming the main sponsor of a kayak challenge in aid of the Torbay lifeboat station. The gruelling, 20-mile challenge first took the team from Totnes town centre to the Brixham station down a 10 mile tidal stretch of the fast-flowing River Dart.
This was followed by 10 miles around the hazardous South Devon coast, culminating in the final stretch around Berry Head on the approach to Brixham. FAKRO spokesman Steve Mascall said "Inter-Line’s target was to raise £4,500 and so far they have reached nearly £4,000. We felt this challenge was an immensely tough one and the fact they succeeded is a fantastic reflection on the commitment to this great charity by those concerned”.
