Faces of British Architecture moves to Bristol

The Changing Face of British Architecture is at The Architecture Centre, Bristol until 16 December 2012.

Originally curated by Lorna Soar at The Building Centre, this expanded exhibition sets images of the professionals face to face with a series of specially commissioned photographs by local photographer Frances Gard, of Bristol’s non-architect pioneers, including Ben Barker (Greater Bedminster Community Partnership), Bryony Morgan (Pop-Up Bristol) and Chris Chalkley (Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft).

The portraits are complemented by exclusive interviews with featured practitioners such as Edward Cullinan, Sarah Wigglesworth, Sunand Prasad, Eva Jiricna, Alison Brooks and Ken Shuttleworth. This simultaneous verbal commentary reveals the people behind the faces as they discuss the strengths and weaknesses of British Architecture, transforming an otherwise mute photographic exhibition into a dynamic experience of talking heads.
