The Independent Floorcovering Distributors Association (IFDA) recently held a meeting for its members at F. Ball and Co. Ltd’s headquarters in Cheddleton. During the day, IFDA members discussed industry news and events and took a guided tour of F. Ball’s new manufacturing facility. The meeting was attended by 15 members of the IFDA, including current Chairman, Paul Carvall of Carvall Flooring Supplies.
As part of the IFDA meeting, David Hibbert, F. Ball’s Sales Director and Paul Starkey, F. Ball’s National Sales Manager, gave a presentation on the recent developments at F. Ball. This includes a new 30,000ft2 factory that was completed to meet increased demand for F. Ball’s Stopgap smoothing underlayments range. Designed and constructed using the latest technology, the new facility has substantially increased the site’s output and has provided additional capacity for the company to expand its production in the future. F. Ball’s site also contains a specially built training centre, which was opened in 2010, and delivers courses on subfloor preparation and adhesive selection to flooring contractors, free of charge.
David Hibbert explains: “F. Ball have a close working partnership with the IFDA and we were delighted to host one of their meetings. We are very proud of the quality of our manufacturing facilities and it was a fantastic opportunity to show the members of the IFDA the extent of our new facilities, which demonstrate our long-term commitment to the contract flooring industry.”
