Epwin Group listed in Sunday Times Top Track 250
The Epwin Group, the specialist low maintenance building products group, has been listed as one of the UK’s top 250 mid-market businesses.
In its seventh year, The Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 annual league table is compiled by Oxford-based research company Fast Track.
It places the Epwin Group among a select number of UK businesses, which it identifies as adopting an innovative approach to the downturn.
Jim Rawson, chairman, Epwin Group said: “It is a slog out there. We’re facing a double if not a triple whammy – economic downturn, market maturity, consolidation but equally, significant market volatility. As a Group, have had to face some stark realities and made some difficult decisions as a consequence.
“But we are continuing to invest in product development and innovation. Sustainability is critical, both in the long term future of construction and its relationship with the environment but equally in our approach to the day-to-day operation of our businesses. We have to be thinking long term.”
With unparalleled experience in the supply of low maintenance, energy efficient PVC-U products to the home improvement, social and new build markets, Epwin Group companies have collectively offered a lead to the building products industry in sustainability.
This includes its low carbon recycled window offering RECO22, which became the first window system to secure a dedicated A+ rating across all domestic applications in February this year. With a carbon footprint of extruded profile of just six per cent of that manufactured using virgin material, a triple glazed option means that it also achieves a high level of thermal performance with a u-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K.
Appearing in the Top Track 250 for the sixth time and with a turnover of £183.2million, the Epwin Group was listed by Fast Track at 214, placing it among the largest business with operations in the South West.
Rawson added: “We must remain disciplined. We have managed to maintain stability during an exceptionally unstable period. This is the foundation on which we have built and continue to build our award winning lead in product innovation and sustainability in building products and which we believe will mean that we will be well placed when recovery comes.”
