Engineering Sketches - winner announced

On 12 December Trevor Flynn of Drawing at Work announced the winner and commendations for the Engineering Sketches Competition 2012, an open exhibition to find the best drawings produced by engineers in the last five years. The first prize went to Alfonso Pezzi of AKT II, who impressed the judges by expressing the workings of a complex assembly clearly and simply in his hand drawn sketch. Commendations went to Kevin Lyons of Lyons O’Neill, Ed Hollis of Structure Mode, Steve Webb of Webb Yates, and Peter Smith of Elliott Wood who all submitted exceptionally good drawings.

This years judges were: Trevor Flynn, Drawing at Work; Rob Partridge, AKT II; Matthew Wells, Techniker; Jane Wernick, Jane Wernick Associates; Andrew Scoones, The Building Centre.

Many thanks to everyone who submitted sketches this year, selected entries will be on show in the Cafe Gallery at The Building Centre until 2 February.

Engineering Sketches forms part of the Engineering Club's Cultural programme.
