JELD-WEN, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of doors and windows, will be showcasing an extensive range of sustainable and energy efficient external joinery solutions at Ecobuild.

The company, which has extensive R&D facilities and is at the forefront in terms of development of windows and doors to meet Building Regulations and the Code for Sustainable Homes, will be demonstrating its new Hi Profile Combi window and its energy efficient doorsets that make a home more thermally efficient.

Tony Pell, Product Manager at JELD-WEN, explains: “This is the first time we have exhibited at Ecobuild and it’s a great opportunity to show how our high quality windows and doors can reduce carbon emissions and meet thermal performance requirements. Timber is widely recognised as the only truly sustainable material for windows and doors and this is leading to strong demand from developers across the UK.”

JELD-WEN produces an extensive range of timber windows, all of which are manufactured from PEFC Chain of Custody certified timber which originating from well-managed forests.

The company has experienced tremendous interest in its recently released Hi Profile Combi window, which achieves a U-value of 1.5Wm2/K as standard with higher specifications available giving the architect or specifier total flexibility in window design and configuration.

JELD-WEN offers high performance soft-coated 24mm Low E insulating glazing units as standard on all its factory glazed timber windows, which reflects the heat from the radiators back into the home during winter and keeps the heat from the sun on the outside during the hot summer months.

The company will also be demonstrating its composite doorsets, with a wide range of door styles that meet the requirements of PAS23/24 and Part L 2006. JELD-WEN’s composite doorsets are specified for many developments throughout the country and are renowned for their robust construction, excellent value for money and high thermal performances.

For new build or refurbishment work, JELD-WEN also offers a wide range of plywood, veneered and moulded doors, which are ideally suited to a full range of internal situations. These internal doors include a wide choice of robust, aesthetically pleasing and affordable options with many styles available as fire doors.

“Energy efficiency is a major part of our offering and we will be demonstrating how our high specification doorsets and timber windows offer numerous environmental benefits and excellent thermal performance,” adds Tony Pell. “Increasing numbers of developers and specifiers are recognising timber for its properties in enhancing a property through attractive sightlines and very low maintenance.”
