Combined heat and power (CHP) specialist ENER-G Combined Power Ltd has been named 'Company of the Year' by its peers in the sustainable energy industry.
The business won the top accolade in the inaugural AMPS (Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Power Systems and ancillary equipment) Awards.
The award, sponsored by JCB Broadcrown, was presented during a ceremony at the London Hilton in Mayfair to celebrate the achievements of the UK's leading power systems companies
Judges were impressed by ENER-G's achievements over more than 30 years and its commitment to developing future talent via its apprenticeship and graduate development programmes. This includes a strong focus on continuous professional development. The company is also helping to develop the engineers of tomorrow via its work with local schools and support for the STEMNET campaign, which inspires young people to develop careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
ENER-G, which is headquartered in Salford, Greater Manchester, is a leading global supplier of CHP systems from 4kWe to 10MWe. The company has operations in 11 countries and has more than 1,000 installed systems across the world.
Chris Marsland, Technical Director for ENER-G Combined Power, received the award at the ceremony. He said: "It's a huge honour to be judged as Company of the Year by our industry peers. Here, we combine R&D, engineering, manufacturing, operations, sales and marketing, all under one roof, which gives us greater agility and flexibility in meeting fast changing market needs. This award is testimony to the hard work and dedication of our teams in the UK and across the globe."
