Ecobuild a Success for Arch – March 4, 2011

Arch Timber Protection has exhibited at Ecobuild 2011 – the event’s largest exhibition to date. For the sixth concurrent year, members of the Arch Sales team showcased products from the entire timber protection range, including new product launches.

Ecobuild organisers celebrated their most successful year yet with over 41,000 visitors and 1,300 exhibitors despite moving from London’s Earls Court to the new Excel Arena in the Docklands area of the city. Since its launch in 2005, Ecobuild is now the world’s largest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment and the UK’s largest construction event of any kind, welcoming delegates, exhibitors and presenters from as far afield as Bulgaria, Spain, Germany and China.

Arch used the event to launch their ‘Tree of Knowledge’ campaign, inviting those interested in wood protection to ask our timber specialists any questions relating to our preservative or fire retardant treatments. The ‘Tree of Knowledge’ will also feature at a series of events this year, including Arch’s own customer roadshow, which is scheduled to run throughout May.

New products launched to meet industry demand were also showcased at this year’s Ecobuild. KEYWOOD – Arch’s new modified timber product ideal for cladding and decking applications – received a large amount of interest from those delegates looking for a hardwood-type alternative to traditional cladding and decking timbers. TANALISED Clear pressure treated timber – previously launched at last year’s Ecobuild – is also ideal for cladding and decking, as well as garden buildings. TANALISED Clear has the appearance of natural, untreated timber, but the unique TANALITH M wood preservative significantly delays the onset of staining, helping timber look fresher and cleaner for longer.

Arch timber specialists were also on hand to answer questions relating to Arch’s best known brands, such TANALISED E pressure treated timber and award-winning VACSOL Aqua treated timber, as well as DRICON and NON-COM Exterior fire retardant treatments.

Arch customer, Intelligent Wood Systems, received an unprecedented number of visitors to their stand after they announced that they were launching a new fire retardant protection treatment for timber frames at the event.

David Law, Arch Timber Protection’s Marketing Services Manager, said of the event, ‘We always enjoy exhibiting at Ecobuild, which is now the world’s largest sustainable construction event. Specifiers in particular were very interested in learning more of our preservative and fire retardant timber treatments at the exhibition and we were happy to offer advice and assistance wherever possible’.
