Dimplex has again helped raise thousands of pounds for charity by sponsoring the Legends Charity Golf Day, which supports two local and one national charity.
Hosted by football personality Harry Redknapp, the annual event takes place at Dorset’s Remedy Oak Golf Club and sees lucky amateurs joining forces for a competitive day’s golf with famous football legends including Jamie Redknapp, Matt le Tissier, Graeme Souness and Pat Jennings.
After the tournament, an auction was hosted by Willie Thorne and boosted the funds raised to an amazing £30,000, which will benefit children’s hospices Naomi House in Hampshire and Julia’s House in Dorset, as well as Round Table Children’s Wish, of which Harry is a patron.
Dimplex managing director Stuart Mackenzie says: “We are thrilled that this year’s event has raised even more than last year’s total, and once again we’re extremely grateful to Harry and all the other players who gave their time to make the day such a success. Occasional showers failed to blight a superb day’s golf in beautiful surroundings, but more importantly, we hope the cash raised will aid these charities in their great work with young people.
“At Dimplex we are looking forward to continuing our support for the Harry Redknapp Legends Charity Golf Day at Remedy Oak again next summer.”
The winning team consisted of Vershal Relan playing with football personalities Brett Pitman, Shaun Cooper and Darren Anderton.
