Daikin UK is continuing its sponsorship of the Green Housing Forum, an initiative that aims to highlight the challenges and benefits of achieving cost effective, sustainable housing as a means of tackling fuel poverty. Expected to be the largest Green Housing Forum to date, the event is taking place in the central networking area of Homes 2016 on the 16th and 17th November at London Olympia.
A positive platform for engagement and discussion for social housing professionals working within asset management and sustainability teams, the Green Housing Forum provides the ideal stage for sharing best practice and ideas for the creation of sustainable green homes.
Offering a three-tier insight into affordable heating solutions for social housing providers, the two day event will cover: a new vision to alleviate fuel poverty, large scale adoption of renewable technology and connectivity for social housing providers.
Open to all Homes 2016 attendees, the first day of the event will be introduced by keynote speakers from the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Delta-ee and National Energy Action. Ian Preston of the Centre for Sustainable Technology will introduce the second day of the event, followed by presentations by Ian Napier of Switchee and David Weatherall of the Energy Saving Trust.
Several housing associations such as Sentinel Housing Association and Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership will also present their journey of adopting renewable technologies, discussing the challenges overcome and the benefits to both the association and its tenants.
Following the presentations visitors are invited to take part in several breakout roundtable discussions surrounding the key themes and issues identified.
Influenced by the rapid rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart technology, the social housing sustainability agenda is evolving, creating new challenges and innovative solutions.
