Knauf Insulation has launched its CPD academy – an online learning facility offering easy access to the company’s wide range of CPD presentations.

The Knauf Insulation Academy provides support and training for customers, architects and specifiers on a wide range of CPD certified topics, which is free to all users once they have completed a simple registration process.

With sustainability targets and regulations becoming increasingly stringent, the online facility offers relevant and comprehensive CPD courses on Approved Document L1A for conservation of fuel and power in new dwellings, Approved Document E on the resistance to the passage of sound and on the Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) and the sustainable development and design of new dwellings.

In addition, users can find CPD courses in development on: Sustainability – an explanation of the core sustainability issues including BREEAM and CfSH; Insulation of solid walls - external wall insulation systems and internal wall insulation systems and benefits and Rainscreen Cladding Systems – explanation of rainscreen systems, how they work and the insulation options available.

The online facility from Knauf Insulation enables users to access information and advice whenever and wherever they choose, saving time and money negating the need for presentation appointments. The Academy e-Learning suite provides tools to monitor the user’s progress and produces detailed usage reports. Employers can easily access the assessment results to measure performance, levels of improvement and completion results. For CPD purposes, the user can be assessed via an interactive exam.

“Recognising the time pressures and demands placed upon our customers and architects, the implementation of this online and e-learning facility allows for the completion of CPD presentations to be obtained when convenient for the user,” explains David Khan, Technical Product Manager at Knauf Insulation.

“Knauf Insulation has developed the system to ensure all users are provided with the best industry technical expertise as well as all the tools and service required for successful completion. Whether it be a phone call to our Technical Advisory Centre, a CPD presentation at the user’s office by our specification team, or an ‘in-house’ training course for staff at one of the Knauf Insulation demonstration and display areas we hope that this will benefit individuals wishing to research or develop particular areas of specialisation and interest.”
