Chain of custody

The A. Proctor Group, of Blairgowrie, Perthshire, are pleased to announce that they are now able to offer FSCTM and PEFC-certified timber products.

The Group feels that it is important that timber should come from well managed, sustainable forestry sources, and therefore underwent a commitment to achieving Chain of Custody status for the timber used in their products. This system traces forestry products through the supply chain to the end-user and helps to ensure long-term timber supplies from forests which are managed responsibly.

Using FSCTM or PEFC-certified timber helps to protect the environment by ensuring that harvested trees are either replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally. Because the forests are well managed, workers whose incomes are dependent on them have the assurance that future generations will also be able to enjoy the benefits.

The Profloor Acoustic range incorporate softwood battens, MDF and chipboard which utilise either FSCTM or PEFC certified timber. The A. Proctor Group, one of the market leaders in acoustic floating floor constructions, offers several systems which can be used in concrete or timber floor constructions. These systems have been rigorously tested and are also Robust Detail-compliant.

Thermal laminates are also available, providing an easy to install insulated floor using a range of insulants, including Styrofoam and the new, innovative Spacetherm.

The A. Proctor Group can also provide a wide range of PEFC timber cladding products. The Royale range comes with a 30-year warranty against rot/decay. The Royale range is low maintenance and is available in a range of colours.

Maibec Timber cladding is available with FSCTM certification and has a 50-year warranty against rot/decay and an 18-year warranty against peeling and blistering of the stain. This can be increased by a further 15 years if it is repainted during the original warranty period.
