BTicino, a Legrand Group company, has entered a new era in door entry technology by digitising its 2 wire system – an enhancement that the company says will ease installation, improve system flexibility and increase user friendliness.

From an installer’s point of view, one of the key benefits of the BTicino 2 wire digital system is the use of non-polarised wiring, meaning installation has been simplified to such an extent that mistakes should quickly become a thing of the past. Additionally, installation will not only be far quicker than 8 wire or analogue systems, but significantly faster than the traditional 2 wire solution offered by many competitors.

Meanwhile, the enhanced flexibility of the new BTicino technology will be beneficial to all parties. Its capability to be integrated with the vast majority of the company’s handsets and entry panels means the choice open to those specifying the end-user elements of a system covers a whole spectrum of solutions and tastes – from standard white audio through to the recently launched, state-of-the-art Axolute system.

The BTicino 2 wire technology is also able to cope with the kind of large installation which was previously the domain of 8 wire and analogue solutions.

With a maximum operable range of 600m between entry panel and handset, the system can support up to 3,900 apartments with 39 independent risers, with five handsets per apartment and a total of 96 video entry panels. As a result, the end user will reap the benefits of a technology that was only previously available in smaller developments.
