Book Now For the CPD Event of the Year!

Never mind the recent spate of award winners and glamorous parties, Arch Timber Protection – part of the Lonza Group - is celebrating after launching two new Continued Professional Development (CPD) seminar programmes for Specifiers and the construction industry, both now fully accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Hosted by our Fire Retardant Business Development Manager, the Fire Retardant Treatments for Timber Based Products seminar forms part of RIBA’s mandatory Core Curriculum for Chartered Architects, under the Design and Build It module. This exciting new seminar provides guidance on how to correctly specify fire protection for solid timber and panel products used in construction. As well as explaining how to limit liabilities by ensuring your choices comply with Building Regulations and British and European standards, the seminar also showcases some of the world’s most iconic structures assembled using fire protected timbers, including the Savill Building in Windsor, the National Assembly Building in Cardiff and Timber in Construction 2008 award-winner, the Kielder Observatory in Northumberland.

For those specifiers or construction professionals thinking of specifying or have already specified preservative protected timbers for their next project, the Preservative Treatments for Timber Based Products CPD seminar is an absolute must. Presented by Arch’s experienced account management team with a wealth of knowledge surrounding the preservation sector, this CPD presentation aims to describe the attributes of timber – our most versatile and sustainable construction material. This hour-long session also describes the different processes used to effectively increase the service life of construction and landscaping timbers and gives a comprehensive update on current legislation and industry guidelines.

As an added bonus, those enrolled in RIBA’s Chartered Architect programme will be able to complete their mandatory two hours of CPD under the ‘Design and Build It’ module as part of RIBA’s Core Curriculum by booking onto both CPD seminars.
