Big Foot announced as double finalist in RAC Cooling Industry Awards

Sussex-based Big Foot Systems is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted in two prestigious RAC Cooling Industry Awards. The company is thrilled its new Stand Range, designed to support air conditioning units on the ground, has been nominated in the ‘Air Conditioning Product of the year: Accessory, Component or Process’ category and in the ‘Air Conditioning Innovation: VRFS, Splits and Associated’ category.

Now in its 12th year, the RAC Cooling Industry Awards is the industry’s biggest and most respected awards event, championing the leading innovations and environmental successes in the sector. This year saw a very high number of entries submitted. Following a rigorous judging process, winners will be announced at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards on 28th September 2016 at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London.

Big Foot Systems’ new Stand Range bridges a gap in the market as the only off-the-shelf solution for ground-mounted air conditioning (AC) units currently available. It is a simple solution for AC contractors who have previously made DIY supports out of struts as a quick-fix on site. Instead this is a lightweight solution that comes boxed and ready to use and is a convenient and superior solution for contractors to have in the back of their van.

Big Foot Systems’ new ground mount support system caters for a wide variety of condensing units, with two ranges that suit mini splits and VRF/VRV condensing units. Available in a number of sizes, with extender kits and cross bar spacings that are adjustable to accommodate various unit sizes, the supports can be used both individually and in banks.


The Stand Range offers anti-vibration mounts for mini splits and clamp kits for the VRF/VRV units. There are two height options available with corresponding extension and riser kits. Featuring slotted channel cross bars the Stand Range is compatible with industry standard fixings. Plus the slotted end plates on the cross bars allow continuous movement between end bar holes to suit numerous air conditioning units.

As a freestanding solution there is no requirement to secure the Stand Range to the floor or building. Extremely versatile the Stand Range is suitable for both internal and external applications so end-users can utilise any space that is available. The lightweight system can also be easily moved once installed so end-users can utilise a temporary space until a more permanent space is available. The Stand Range is also very compact in size but maintains good load distribution through its Big Foot Feet, again making good use of space.

This high quality support system is made with a Hot Dipped Galvanised (HDG) steel framework with 200mm feet, making it robust and secure. In addition, there is a tower system available for double decker banks of mini split cooling units, maximising the use of space for clients.
