Bells are ringing for smart shower solutions
Harmer shower drains combine ease of assembly with discreet aesthetics, providing a high-performing solution for both newbuild and refurbishment applications. Manufactured by leading industry specialists Alumasc Exterior Building Products (Alumasc), the body of the drain is produced in white polyester powder quality aluminium and is available in two configurations.
For precast and prestressed concrete floors a vertical spigot drain body is offered, and a more compact horizontal outlet version is produced for use in timber floors. With an overall height of just 158mm, this is easily accommodated in the void between the joists. Both units make use of a bell component to form the trap, and when used in sheet flooring applications the bell top and flange are exposed, allowing designers to incorporate this element into a co-ordinated scheme to complement the floor finish. There is a range of colours available, offering an appealing individuality to the completed installation. Options include a dimpled powder coating for the clamping flange and bell in one of seven RAL colours plus white, or the bell can be supplied with an Altro non-slip safety insert which offers a choice of ten shades.
The bell trap is engineered to provide highly efficient drainage, with waste flowing silently and quickly away around the unit’s perimeter. A security version which locks the bell into position may be specified for high security areas. For tiled floor applications, Harmer shower drains can incorporate a modular kit accommodating a lift-out grate which is available in cast aluminium in the same seven powder-coated RAL finishes, high quality stainless steel or nickel-bronze. The optional kit fits directly on top of the unit, providing a quick and easy means of installation. The grate comes in a choice of two contemporary designs, concentric or star pattern.
Harmer shower drains are compact, lightweight and easily installed in any situation. When used in conjunction with a membrane waterproof floor, the membrane is dressed over the unit’s top flange and secured by the clamping collar, ensuring an efficient seal which wholly preserves the integrity of the installation. The aluminium components are 100% recyclable, and the system is supported by Alumasc’s proven reputation for long term reliability and fitness for purpose.
