Responding to growing demand for ash amongst joiners and developers, stair balustrade specialist Richard Burbidge has strengthened its professional collection with the introduction of a new range of Ash stairparts.

A classic timber, ash is becoming an increasingly popular choice, thanks to its attractive appearance and interesting grain textures, which can add value and character to a staircase.

The new Ash range includes fluted and imperial spindles, turned and fluted newels, a choice of hand and base rails, plus left and right hand volutes.

Says Product Manager Zoe Goff: “Just as oak has enjoyed a revival in recent years, ash is another traditional timber making a comeback, as building professionals rediscover the appeal of classic timbers.

“The subtle, pale appearance of ash complements the modern trend for lighter wood finishes. Plus, with the average house size shrinking, paler timbers that can help to brighten small spaces like hallways are a shrewd choice for developers.”

The new ash stairparts are available alongside the existing range of red oak components, offering greater breadth of choice for customers at the higher end of the Richard Burbidge professional balustrade collection.

Recommended retail prices for the Ash range start from £12.75 for spindles and from £107.40 for handrails.
