Wavin, the global manufacturers of stormwater and rainwater management systems and drainage products, has announced the UK launch of
Q-Bic Plus, an innovative modular system that offers significantly enhanced design freedom, installation speed and access for inspection and cleaning.

Developed by Wavin, Q-Bic Plus rewrites the rule book of geocellular stormwater management systems. Its unique formulation means that whatever the available area, a solution can be designed using Q-Bic Plus. In addition its open tank design enables greater access for maintenance and thanks to its integrated connectors it can increase speed of installation by up to 50%, when compared to traditional plastic systems, helping to reduce costs.

Widely used throughout central Europe, Q-Bic Plus has been launched in the UK following the demand from house builders, developers and local authorities for an advanced, large-scale modular solution to aid surface water management of large urban housing and commercial infrastructure projects.

Q-Bic plus features push-fit functionality. Fully Integrated connectors means it simply clicks into place with no need for clips and pins offering improved installation times. Its lightweight construction also means it’s easy to handle with a lightweight base unit, rounded edges, dedicated handgrips and a walkable top deck. Thanks to its compact, modular design, it means fewer deliveries to site.

The systems unique pillar design means that 70% of the tanks surface area is accessible. With the widest bi-directional channels on the market – up to 370mm – Q-Bic Plus offers the easiest system for CCTV inspection or cleaning nozzle reach. Its integrated vertical and lateral access points, offering choice of connection, provide further flexibility in terms of tank orientation and layout.

“Q-Bic Plus is the next generation of modular attenuation specifically designed for managing excessive rainfall at large scale developments in towns, cities and at new builds,” commented Martin Lambley Product Manager - Foul, Utilities and Water Management at Wavin. “The modular nature of Q-Bic Plus makes it perfect for urban housing developments and commercial utilities projects, from just a few units acting as a soakaway, to thousands of units creating a vast underground reservoir.”

Faced with rising costs and stricter deadlines, modularisation is growing in popularity as developers and housing authorities look to find the next generation of efficient and economical products and systems. Due to the numerous benefits both on and off site, Wavin’s Q-Bic Plus looks set to become an increasingly popular choice at every stage of the supply chain, from the architect and specifier to the contractor and client.

Today, more than five million Wavin infiltration and attenuation units have been successfully installed globally, helping to prevent damage to infrastructure and threats to public health from flooding. Q-Bic Plus was launched in 2014, initially in France and then a phased launch through Europe and now UK customers will be able to see this latest addition to the award-winning Wavin portfolio during the Expo.

The launch announcement came on the eve of Flood Expo 2016, the world's leading flood exhibition and conference being held in London on October 12-13.
