Case study

Cemplas Waterproofing & Concrete Repairs Ltd were delighted to be awarded the £65k contract from Mace Ltd to install a Delta cavity membrane system to the walls and floors of the entire basement and plant rooms at this prestigious development. Vauxhall Sky Gardens is a 36-storey tower consisting of 239 residential apartments, and 10,000 m2 of office space on the first seven floors of the tower. Retail space also forms part of the scheme, and a low rise element to provide affordable housing. The name given to the development is taken from the 2,500 m2 gardens on its top floor, and in 2014, Sky Gardens won ‘Best Housing Project’ at the Sunday Times British Homes Awards.

Methodology
Cemplas operatives installed Delta MS500 on the walls fixed with Qwik-Seal PlugsDelta MS20 on the floor, both sealed with tape andcorner strip at the joints.

Delta drainage channel was installed around the perimeter of the room collecting the ground water draining away to a Dual V3 Sump Pump.

To allow early foot traffic, a specialist 80mm screed incorporating Ronacrete 8 day overlay additive was laid over the Delta MS20 membrane, and Koster NB1 waterproofing slurry was applied to all upstands.

An award winning housing project with a watertight basement/plant room.
