9,500m2 of Optima FC in 3mm Aluminum PPC (Axalta) RAL 7047 Matt has been used in the completion of Unite White Rose in Leeds. Optima FC was chosen as a secret fix rainscreen cladding solution was required on the building.
Using the latest 3D software, Sotech and Metclad worked closely in developing the project specific interface details, which included panels meeting at various angles and planes. Two full scale mock-ups were erected at Metclad’s head office for the project team to review prior to starting onsite. This allowed the Metclad’s installation team to establish the best sequence of install and gave the client the opportunity to modify any details before final sign-off.
Producing the mock-ups ensured any challenges were overcome prior to the project commencing.
White Rose View is located near the University of Leeds and will cater for 976 students. The £55m scheme will be a great addition for Leeds’ growing number of students.
The project comprises two new high rise towers standing at 27 & 17 stories. The development will include a commercial space at Ground Floor level which JD Wetherspoons will occupy and also a 90 bay basement car park for the neighboring office block.
