News

The result is an attractive and thermally-efficient loft ladder that is perfectly suited for residential/domestic applications.

The Cadet is available as either a 3-part folding wooden loft ladder (shown here) or a 2-part sliding ladder. The 3-part folding version, Cadet 3, results in minimal protrusion into the loft/attic above. It therefore saves valuable loft space. The 2-part sliding Cadet 2 is best suited for rooms with higher ceilings (up to 3.34m).

Key benefits at a glance…

  • Well insulated (U-value 0.90 W/m2K)
  • Airtight seal (Class 4 certified)
  • Load capacity of 150kg per step
  • Wide steps / treads with anti-slip profile for comfort and safety
  •  Hatch box trap door finished in white on both sides
  •  Supplied ready to install

Standard sizes or made-to-measure
The Cadet is available in a range of standard sizes, with opening lengths of 1120mm to 1400mm, and widths of either 600mm or 700mm. Our standard sizes also cater for floor-to-ceiling heights between 2200mm and 2880mm, therefore making them suitable for the majority of applications.

However, the Cadet 3 wooden loft ladder and hatch box can also be made-to-measure, to fit the exact dimensions of your ceiling opening and room height. This ensures an optimum fit and eliminates the need for costly ceiling alterations.

Quality assurance
Both the Cadet 2 and 3 wooden loft ladders are manufactured and tested in accordance with EN 14975 (DN 4570). They are also supplied with a 2-year full warranty and 10-year parts warranty.

Not quite what you are looking for?
If the cadet wooden loft ladder and hatch is not quite what you were looking for, explore our alternatives. For example, the Designo wooden loft ladder offers improved strength and thermal insulation. With a load capacity of 180kg per step it is ideally suited for commercial or heavy-use residential applications. It also offers superb thermal insulation, with a U-value of 0.60 W/m2K.

Alternatively, the Esca 11 wooden loft ladder and hatch offers a lower cost alternative to the Cadet. Manufactured from FSC® sourced wood, it is available in standard sizes only. The Esca 11 comes with wide steps (360mm) and a load capacity of 150kg per step.
